22.15 - INCOMPLETE CHAIRS - THEATER 1
Kenichi Ugana — Japan — 2025 — 1.26u
Kenichi Ugana is back at Razor Reel. Last year we showed his Visitors at our festival, now we’ll taking his latest film from his hands and present you Incomplete Chairs. Are you sitting comfortably? Well, you won’t be for long with this utterly unhinged absurdist splatter satire of careerism, consumerism, designer goods elitism and creative megalomania, that truly has to be seen to be believed. Think a young Takeshi Miike, and the writings of Ryu Murakami or Edogawa Rampo and you have the right blend for this films. By turns blackly funny, shockingly gory, ferociously smart, unflinchingly confrontational, and utterly, jaw-droppingly outrageous! Ugana is truly an unpredictable director for sure.

22.15 - KOMBUCHA
DISCOVERY ROOM
Jake Myers — USA — 2025 — 1.34u
Director Jake Myers takes his award-winning short Kombucha! to disturbingly hilarious new heights in this feature film. A musician stuck in a soul-crushing office job discovers the free kombucha at work – a slimy drink with bizarre and horrifying side effects. While his colleagues keep smiling as they hit their quotas, he begins to be quite literally consumed by his work. Imagine *The Office* directed by David Cronenberg, sharpened with biting corporate satire. Kombucha is an unsettling, witty, and chilling mirror for anyone who’s ever watched their creative dreams fade away in the grind of a joyless job.
