Razor Reel Flanders Film Fest invites both national and international genre filmmakers to submit their films for the 2025 edition!
We are looking for bold, surprising, and distinctive films within the genres of fantasy, thriller, horror, science fiction, and everything in between.
From short films to feature-length, from experimental to mainstream – as long as your work pushes boundaries, it has a place at our festival.
Filmmakers, sales agents, and distributors are encouraged to submit their films (short or feature-length) for the 18th edition of the Razor Reel Flanders Film Fest, which will take place during the autumn holidays of 2025 in Bruges.
The 18th edition of the Razor Reel Flanders Film Fest, the only genre film festival in Flanders, will be held in the fall of 2025 in the heart of Bruges. During the festival, we present a high-quality selection of the best national and international genre films—ranging from fantasy, thrillers, and action to fantastical comedies and animated films—offering our audience a unique, intimate, and welcoming atmosphere. We also host numerous guests and organize talks and Q&A sessions that enrich our visitors’ understanding and appreciation of the genre.
Razor Reel hosts three competitions:
YOUNG BLOOD AWARD
With YOUNG BLOOD, the Razor Reel Flanders Film Fest offers a platform for emerging filmmakers (first or second film) and highlights talented newcomers in international genre cinema. The YOUNG BLOOD AWARD honors the best up-and-coming international genre filmmaker.
MELIES D'ARGENT
As part of our membership in the Méliès International Festivals Federation (MIFF), we organize the MÉLIÈS D'ARGENT SHORTS COMPETITION, which rewards the best European fantastic short film (max. 25 minutes). Through this competition, the festival supports emerging and innovative European short film talent and showcases the artistic value of fantastic short cinema. The winner of the Razor Reel Flanders Film Fest nomination joins other European nominees to compete for the Méliès d'Or for Best European Fantastic Short Film.
AUDIENCE AWARD
At the Razor Reel Flanders Film Fest, we also give our audience a voice by presenting an Audience Award for the best feature film.

"Spoor"
Razor Reels is a great festival. The team was so welcoming and made us feel right at home. They were always quick to respond to anything that came up. There was a very nice atmosphere at the festival and lots of interesting people, other filmmakers and critics and horror fans, to talk to. This is a great festival to attend and we were honoured that Spoor was a part of it.
