Discover Razor Reel for free: five short films to get you started
Want to discover Razor Reel for free? Start with our short films. From 29 October to 7 November 2026, the festival in Bruges offers stories that can open up an entire world in just a few minutes. Some begin with a difficult goodbye. Others begin with a demon who wants to dance.
You don’t need to be a seasoned genre-film fan to join in. We’ve picked five films with different ways into the programme: animation, inventions, work stress, suspense and music. Each screens within a short-film block alongside other titles, giving you more than one opportunity to discover something unexpected.
Klonter — a world that keeps growing

Frankie thinks he is dying without being able to say goodbye. Instead, his existence takes an unexpected form: he becomes a planet where life develops, populated by creatures that resemble him. Levi Stoops uses animation and an extraordinary premise to approach a familiar subject: saying farewell. A starting point for anyone curious about how much a short story can contain.
In Short Film Block #1 · Friday 30 October · the block starts at 18:00 · Discovery Room.
The One-Minute Problem — teleportation with complications

A Spanish immigrant is experimenting with teleportation. When a determined electricity inspector takes an interest, both his invention and his marriage are put at risk. A science-fiction premise with familiar everyday concerns: how do you keep an ambitious project and your personal life on track?
In Short Film Block #4 · Friday 6 November · the block starts at 13:30 · Discovery Room.
Demon Dance — a devilish answer to work stress

Overworked consultant Julia faces an unusual challenge: a dance-off with a demon, offering her a chance to win her life back. If you’re ready to leave the working week behind, that’s quite an invitation. This selection from Cutie Kulties makes room for the bizarre, starting with a showdown no office handbook could prepare you for.
In Cutie Kulties · Friday 6 November · the block starts at 20:15 · Discovery Room.
Switch Off — time to put that phone away

A dead phone comes back to life and starts filming a man. Its images also reveal his future, but the moment captured by the camera can be deadly. Our pick from Trash Mahal begins with something thoroughly familiar: the device we carry everywhere. Switching it off suddenly sounds like an excellent idea.
In Trash Mahal · Saturday 7 November · the block starts at 13:30 · Discovery Room.
Cold Sun — three minutes of music and horror

Music can be a way into the festival too. Cold Sun is a three-minute comedy-horror short and a teaser for the new album by Belgian band The Hickey Underworld. It brings music and genre cinema together in a compact format, as part of our Belgian programme, Belgica Obscura.
In Belgica Obscura · Saturday 7 November · the block starts at 13:30 · Hall 1.
Choose a block that sparks your curiosity, bring someone along and discover another side of Razor Reel for free. These five picks are just a starting point: explore the full short-film programme and leave room for a title you’ve never heard of.
Trash Mahal and Belgica Obscura screen at the same time on 7 November, so you’ll need to choose between those two blocks that afternoon.
